FEDERICO MACHEDA ! A name that will be remembered by all United fans for a long time. Previously unknown to most people, he became an instant hero when his stunning injury time goal gave United a 3-2 win and sent the Champions back on top of the Premier League.
After back to back defeats to Liverpool & Fulham, United was really desperate to win this game. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring for United in 14' from an indirect free-kick. Villa equalized when John Carew scored from a header in 29'. They then took a suprised lead in 58' with another header, but this time from Gabriel Agbonlahor.
United made a substitution on 61', replacing Nani for the unknown 17 year old Macheda, a move by Sir Alex Ferguson that looked desperate at that time. Cristiano Ronaldo then scored in 80' to equalize before Macheda curled a superb shot in 93' to win it for United. Old Trafford erupted & a hero was born. KIKO MACHEDA ! Glory Glory Man United !
